Prepare yourself for a photographic journey into my meal at Niche this past Saturday night. The meal was incredible, as expected, and remains one of my favorite two restaurants in St. Louis.

I typically avoid pork belly because I hate the texture of chewy fat. I put my faith in the Niche chefs and ordered it and I was rewarded handsomely with fall apart tender pork. I think it's the best non-fried version of pork belly I've ever had.

The Hen of the Woods is almost always the vegetarian entree option at Niche. I hadn't tried it in my previous visits, so Chef Nate Hereford sent out small portions for us to try. Dear god. This is the best mushroom dish I've had in my entire life. It's crispy, spicy, creamy, and more. Of the three entrees the night we went, this was unquestionably the best. You will enjoy this.

Both of these desserts were fantastic, but I was partial to the Stone Fruit. The rice pudding and it's slight cinnamon taste won me over.
